Apples and Oranges. We didn't have a Memo control in 6.5.

The behaviors of the 7.0 and up controls are windows controls and you have to work with that in mind. Did you try trapping for the '[ESC]' in the onEXIT eep using LastKey and see if SKIP 0 would solve it?

Sometimes just trying the brute force method gets an answer quicker than waiting for a reply from the list. I didn't try it, but that is what I would do.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Saving data with the ESC key, is it possible in Rbase 7.6?

Hi all,

I have a Variable Memo field in a form. If I change the data and hit the tab key, the changes are saved. But..my users are used to using Ver 6.5, where hitting the ESC key would save the changes. In Version 7.6, hitting the ESC key "cancels/undoes" the changes. Is it possible, to make the press of an ESC key save changes?

I tried to remap the ESC key to [TAB][ESC], but that does not seem to work.
If not, is it possible to make the ESC key just not do anything?

Mike
