Also, in R:Base, open the label Designer, bring up an existing label or create a new one. Then in the menu bar, click File | Label Templates.
All the preformatted labels are there with dimensions and brief description.

I don't believe R:Base stores the label number once a label is created. You might want to put the label number in the Label Description in the Database Explorer or as a comment in the On Before Start EEP.
