Les,

Make sure you aren't clearing the variable on the page break or some other
defined break.
Also, I would be calculating that sum of variable in the detail section.

I tried calculating it in report footer, page footer, detail, etc,   
.... nothing worked and I cannot use the dbcalc because this variable is 
used as part of another variable in a calculation.
