They were using 7.5, about a month ago, they had some sort of crash and
corruption possibly in one of the Custom form Actions.
I told them updating to my latest version in 7.6 would replace the code in the
Forms and should take care of the problem
or they can find a good backup they have and restore that.

He found his old 6.4 version of my app, installed that which gave his a new set
of RB* files and lost all his data.
Started re entering date, got a copy of my 7.6 update for my app, tried using
some of those files which contained
a new Prog.apx file but that did not update his Forms... and now the code in
the APX file did not match the Custom
form actions.

So now they are trying to find a clean set of files to send me but they do not
know how to zip files and need to call
a computer tech to do that

Anyone want a new user???

He was being cheap and did not want to pay for my 7.6 update and now has a mess
on his hands.

But this does bring up a question.... It seems about 1-2 users a year calls and
it appears the code in a EEP or Custom for action
gets corrupted or starts flaking out. Usually it is code on a Button they use
several times a week or month, works for months then
one day it quits working. I usually tell them it is like a scratch a record
and that part of the code is corrupt, and it is beyond my / RBase
control....

Thanks
Marc

What did this client have in the RB4 file? If it was only forms and
reports, then you should be able to restore from any old backup,
and then synched. But if they had any varchar columns in their
database, then yeah you have lost data.

I tried using an old RB4 from someone else's db but that is not working

  I think they are toast!
