Thanks

We have several copies of our *.RB* files as backups
Sounds like I need to delete them or move them to a new folder

I thought RBase would only look at the ones I was connected to? Live and learn.

Thanks

Marc

Marc,

One thing I have discovered is that if you have a number of database files in
the current folder R:Base will repeatedly 'look' at those. On my XP machine CPU
usage was up to 50% (two CPUs so 100% of one) until I deleted all of the
redundant RB? and RX? Files - now it is back to 'normal'. If you use
PROCOM.EXE (MS process monitor) you can soon see the events associated with the
R:Base exe - I found a lot of files being accessed that weren't part of what I
was actually using. (RBTI have confirmed that this is what R:Base should be
doing so I have improved my 'housekeeping' and cleared out all redundant
database files.)

Is it possible to have too many files in a folder and slow down Rbase?

Also will having too many Windows temp files in the TMP folder slow down RBase?

I
