I just tried it and RSHOW only displays the RBASE Main window, no R window,
just the MDI client window that the R window is a child to, even when the R
Window is selected in startup options, so that doesn't look like it is a
viable workaround.

The RHIDE / RSHOW would work as long as the R> window was the top window
when you did RHIDE. It's just going to return to the window state at the
time of the RHIDE.
