Bill,

Congratulations on taking that important step.
You didn't mention your success today at all during the conference.

As always, this group stands ready to assist with your questions.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - 10.10.10

I came to PA last Wed thinking that I would probably not suffer the pains of
migration from 4.5++ to any windows version of anything. But I gave it one
last chance, figuring that there just might be something to all the hype,
and certainly not looking forward to years of skating around the new
versions of Windows in every new computer I buy.

Well, I must say that I was EXTREMEly impressed. So last night I converted
my 4.5 database to 9.0 extreme in my hotel room (which was very nice and
clean at the Doubletree and my wife will be glad to hear that I'm not
bringing any bedbugs home in my luggage). The conversion was quick and easy
even for this old DOS guy, since I've decided to take my time building all
the forms and reports I'll need from scratch. The features are just too
cool to saddle them with my old structures, formats, etc. I'll just load
all the current data from my "production" database when I'm done.

Anyway, my decision was partly because of all the input from the friendly
AND intelligent (a rare combo) guys and gals I've read about over the years
on this list-server but now have seen and heard "real time". I look forward
to a lot of dialoguing in this mode and in person in the future, as I'm sure
I'll need lots of help along the way.

Thanks to all.
