Once again, we all learned a lot and were remotivated. it is hard not to get excited about all the possibilities when Razzak is showing us the great new features and procedures. I am thrilled that even my minor issues were addressed in the new versions. It just keeps getting better. Thanks to the dream team for all the hard work. Robert M. As it turns out, I had a wonderful time, had no problem keeping up, and was thoroughly impressed by 9.1 eXtreme and all the possibilities. I have a software product we use at the museum who's developers are looking to replace the Foxpro engine. 9.1 would be the perfect candidate, particularly with the new CAPTUREFROM VIDEO property command. I also met some terrific folks who I have watched and admired on the list server for years. I even met Wayne Erickson! I am sorry that Sami and the now retired Berni Lis could not be present for the unveiling of 9.1.1.1010. A special note of thanks to Razzak, John, and Donna, who made me feel so welcomed to the first time experience. We are so lucky to have Razzak (with his infectious can-do philosophy) and his team take Rbase to unbelievable new heights along with the dedicated folks on the list serve. By the way, I signed up for a copy of 9.1 (still a 7.6 user) at the close of the conference and can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks again to all Steve Johnson B&O Railroad Museum Baltimore, Md At 05:05 PM 10/10/2010, you wrote: I came to PA last Wed thinking that I would probably not suffer the pains of migration from 4.5++ to any windows version of anything. But I gave it one last chance, figuring that there just might be something to all the hype, and certainly not looking forward to years of skating around the new versions of Windows in every new computer I buy. Well, I must say that I was EXTREMEly impressed. So last night I converted my 4.5 database to 9.0 extreme in my hotel room (which was very nice and clean at the Doubletree and my wife will be glad to hear that I'm not bringing any bedbugs home in my luggage). The conversion was quick and easy even for this old DOS guy, since I've decided to take my time building all the forms and reports I'll need from scratch. The features are just too cool to saddle them with my old structures, formats, etc. I'll just load all the current data from my "production" database when I'm done. Anyway, my decision was partly because of all the input from the friendly AND intelligent (a rare combo) guys and gals I've read about over the years on this list-server but now have seen and heard "real time". I look forward to a lot of dialoguing in this mode and in person in the future, as I'm sure I'll need lots of help along the way. Thanks to all. Bill Stacy -- William Stacy, O.D.
