Our Citrix systems do not automatically disconnect the user. My thinking is that you don't want anything other than your application (including the R:BASE component) deciding when to kill a session since you then lose control over integrity.
If the customer insists on having Citrix kill the session, you need to beat them to the punch, IMHO. Emmitt Dove Manager, Converting Applications Development Evergreen Packaging, Inc. Particularly Citrix (remote desktop) users. My customer says, "Once Citrix detects inactive session (20 minutes), it will automatically log them off." Not sure exactly how they determine an inactive session. In this case I'd look at how the server is tuned - if too few resources are dedicated to applications as opposed to file/network services, you might see troubles. If the files reside remotely from the server in question, then by all means take a long, hard look at the network components. Usually index file 3 (occasionally file 2) which usually indicates a network speed issue and unable to synchronize the data base. But, since each user is actually a session on the server, shouldn't it be faster? Just printer, keyboard/mouse, and screen forms sent to/from the remote PC?
