Jim, you've probably already checked on this and I think someone
mentioned it, but, is the variable associated with the appropriate
Header/Footer (Hn/Fn)? I know I've stymied myself more than once when
I've made changes to a report and failed to check in which section a
break variable was being evaluated.

        Ok,

I will send you a private email with a report to run in the
sample database.

Should give you some help in setting up your report.

                        James,

I was able to create a report that does what you
want.

Do you have access to the sample RRBYW16?

                                Karen,

The first column is the member number
(integer) which is a Primary Key for that table. As printed that value
is actually a TEXT value as later on in the printout I have items with a
suffix attached to a number. There is no way using primary to determine
a break. You have to use a counter hence the vCount variable and the
vBreak variable.
the vbreak variable will contain either
a 0 or 1 with the 1 indicating a break.

Jim: What is printed in the first
column? Is that vCount? Locate vBreak on there too to see if it gives
you any idea.

Also make sure you are not printing the
report with an "order by" clause or else that will totally trump your
vBreak break column. Perhaps older versions were more forgiving of
that.

                                Karen

You will notice it prints six names,
skips a line, one name, skips a line, six names skips a line, one name,
skips a line etc.
