It is with sadness that I share with you the notice of the death of
Bill Owens last evening.
Many people on this R Base list knew Bill for more then a decade.
Bill's passion in life was R Base DOS. He retained valuable sequel strength
and R prompt use and will very soon be realized a significant loss to
Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Rockville Centre were he literally
worked until the end of the day yesterday applying updates to our Turbo
8 windows application programs. Bill was meticulous in taking good care
of multiple databases and application programming needs always doing more
for the end user's needs.
Bill was sincerely impressed and amazed by talented and creative people
within the R Base Community and because of your dedication and kindness
to him --- in my heart I feel many of you kept Bill going and continuous
motivated him to be a better person - a better programmer.
--- Dos Man you will be missed by many.
Bill leaves behind a wife and three beautiful daughters. Please pray
for the Owens family during this difficult time.

Peter,
I am saddened to hear of the passing of our colleague and friend.
I have known Bill for over 13 years (since the inception of R:BASE
Technologies, Inc.), as a fellow R:BASE developer and will certainly
miss his presence on our rbase-l list, many meetings in New York City,
and at our annual conferences.
My sincerest condolences to you and his family.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
