Hi - I also have just decided to make the move from 4.5++ to 9.1, having run
a medical billing business for 30 years using DOS based RBase (from the
earliest versions). I agree that this is an overwhelming move, but one I
find exciting. I hate to think that our friend Razzak needs any help in the
promotional world, but I took a step to help me move forward that I know
will pay big rewards in the end - I engaged Razzak for a two-day in-house
training, geared specifically to my applications and database, to help us
get started. I can tell you that it was well worth every penny. I
certainly didn't answer all the questions, and I'm equally sure I'll do more
as we move forward, but I highly recommend it to you if you are making this
move.

Also, if anyone out there has experience in the Health Care industry, I'd
love to connect.

Best of luck.

Yours truly,

P.S. We're based near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. A., so we're only
about 350 miles from RBase HQ, an advantage.

Hi. You and I are almost in the same boat. Except I stayed with 4.5++ until
now and as a DOS guy, am still uncomfortable in the Windows environment. I
went to a training session and found it helpful, but it is indeed a
difficult change in processes for me, especially since I run by entire
business on a 4.5++ ap that I have cobbled together over the years. I
probably need to attend another seminar before taking the plunge. I do not
want to bring my business to a standstill when I do this. You, on the other
hand do not have that 20 years of 4.5++ to hinder you. So dive right in and
you'll find all the help you need right here. Welcome.

Hello Rbase'rs

AsI have just joined the mailing list, I would like to give you a bit of
background information about me.
I am a Dutchman, living in the UK with my wife and two children. My link
with RBase goes back some thirty years, starting with RBase 2.11 (if I
remember correctcly!) in the early eighties. At the time I used it for my
work. I kept using it until version 4.5++ when, due to a change in
circumstances/priorities I stopped using it. Only recently, after more
than 20 years of rbase inactivity, I have started using it again!

As you can imagine, the first time I started Rbase 9.1, I felt totally lost.
Not surprising in view of the difference between Dos version 4.5++ and
Windows version 9.1!
Luckily, I am getting more and more familar with it, but there is still much
catching-up to do. and I may have some questions from time to time. To start
with.
1) Are there any really good reference books out there? I could not find
anything worth while in the UK. Any advice?
I would appreciate your input.

Best regards,
Boudewijn
