Not to get off topic, but I have an additional question based on this.  How 
many files would be considered a high amount?

I've seen it mentioned several times on this list that database speed is 
affected by the number of files in the database subdirectory.   I'm not sure if 
anyone would know the answer to this, but what if the database is located in a 
separate directory?   RBase would be run from the program directory which could 
have many many files, connect to the database in another directory ....
