I guess it would be sweet if you try to edit a table in design mode, you would 
get a dialog that tells you that data in design mode is read only.

You’re not the only one who forgets things!

My solution for things like would be to have an “On Design” EEP that that made 
visible a label telling me that I can’t edit the data...

However, I guess putting that EEP onto each form could be a pain so maybe you 
could ask for a “use global on design EEP” option?

Found the problem!
Data is not editable running the form in design mode.
Somehow this fact doesn't stick in my head, no matter how many times I trip 
over it.

It seems like the "Row Select" option is checked.

Double-check the following:

DB Grid Properties | Properties | DB Grid Options ...

Make sure that the check box for [ ] Editing is checked.
