Why now? This has been the standard behavior since RBase came over on the Mayflower...
To be honest, I wouldn't waste a pennys worth of development time on this in order to spend it on something really meaningful. It wouldn't take you two minutes to put a design-time EEP on the form with a "PAUSE for 3" msg as a reminder for the session if it is really that important. I guess you can tell if I were the pres I would Veto this.. ;-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis McGrath" <[email protected]> To: "RBASE-L Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 09, 2012 12:09 PM Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: DB Grid editing :I guess it would be sweet if you try to edit a table in design mode, you would get a dialog that tells you that data in design mode is read only. : : Dennis McGrath : Software Developer : QMI Security Solutions : 1661 Glenlake Ave : Itasca IL 60143 : 630-980-8461 : [email protected] : From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alastair Burr : Sent: Thursday, August 09, 2012 10:42 AM : To: RBASE-L Mailing List : Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: DB Grid editing : : Dennis, : : You’re not the only one who forgets things! : : My solution for things like would be to have an “On Design” EEP that that made visible a label telling me that I can’t edit the data... : : However, I guess putting that EEP onto each form could be a pain so maybe you could ask for a “use global on design EEP” option? : : Regards, : Alastair. : : : From: Dennis McGrath<mailto:[email protected]> : Sent: Thursday, August 09, 2012 3:41 PM : To: RBASE-L Mailing List<mailto:[email protected]> : Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: DB Grid editing : : Found the problem! : Data is not editable running the form in design mode. : Somehow this fact doesn't stick in my head, no matter how many times I trip over it. : : Dennis McGrath : Software Developer : QMI Security Solutions : 1661 Glenlake Ave : Itasca IL 60143 : 630-980-8461 : [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> : -----Original Message----- : From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]]<mailto:[mailto:[email protected]]> On Behalf Of Dennis McGrath : Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2012 1:52 PM : To: RBASE-L Mailing List : Subject: [RBASE-L] - Re: DB Grid editing : : Thanks Razzak, : : Row select is not checked. : Editing is checked. : : Any other blues clues? : : Dennis McGrath : Software Developer : QMI Security Solutions : 1661 Glenlake Ave : Itasca IL 60143 : 630-980-8461 : [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> : -----Original Message----- : From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]]<mailto:[mailto:[email protected]]> On Behalf Of A.
