Thanks.  I see that, and I try building a very simple expression to
reference a text column in another table and can't get it to work.  Are
there some rules that govern this sort of lookup?  When I hit the test
button, it fails without giving me any reason for the failure.

I'm trying to reference pf, or patient first name, from pat where pn=
apptpn in the single form table.

pf from pat where pn=apptpn
