I think you need to work out where the characters fit. I found a help 
entry that might help your problem solving. Look up "COLLATE" in the 
help search, then click on international characters. There are several 
tables in there that I have never, ever, even looked at. It might sort 
out your thinking.

I was not looking in the right catalogs.
