A long time ago I also had this problem as a result of #1 file corrupt. I found that I could connect using RScope but not the full version of RBase. In my case I removed the owner password using RScope, and then was able to connect and repair database with full version.

Check your #1 file and see if it is the same size as a backup copy. Copy the backup #1 file to the local and then do the rbsync and then try connecting. Mark, Check the user rights for that particular folder on the network. Are you able to CONNect the database when copying and then using the same database on a local drive?
