Thanks everyone for your responses.
When Dennis mentioned the PAUSE command, I remembered having to use that with 
some of my pdf reports.
I cleaned up some useless code from before 9.5 days and things seem to be 
smoother.

I've had a couple of instances where I needed to "slow down"
R:BASE processing by adding PAUSE statements in while loops.
