Thanks. I'll try this tomorrow. Patti

Remote Desktop back into that computer. Depending on the operating system of the computer you are dialing into, you can click on Start / Run and type in "taskmgr". That brings up task manager for THAT computer, not for your computer. There you should see the RBase session which you can then close. Do you mean I have to find the PC that I'm emulating? I was afraid of that. I guess I have to wait until our hardware guy gets back to do that. Rbase for Dos used to have a way to disconnect users from one location. I was hoping Rbase for Windows did the same. This is what you need to do: Access the server via RDP like you normally do. On the Windows screen on the remote machine right click on the bottom bar and when the windows pops up select “Start Task Manager” On the main screen of the task manager under the “Applications” tab you might or might not see you application. If you see your application, highlight it and click the “end Task” button If you don’t see the application, click on the “Processes” tab at the top and then look for RGB95_64***.*** or something along these lines, depending on your version. Highlight he process and then click the “end process” button. Hopefully this will kill the hung process and get you back to normal. Today when I was finished, all modules where closed and I typed in "Exit" at the R> prompt. It hung. After about 3 minutes, I disconnected my Remote desktop connection. When I connected again, Rbase was still running, minimized. But it won't maximize at all. Neither right nor left click do anything to it. I called up task manager, and it only thought Remote Desktop was running. So I tried halting it that way. No dice. I rebooted the computer. When I went back into remote desktop, it was no different. I ran another instance of Rbase and listed the number of connected users. I was the only one on, so I was hoping it would say "1", but it said "2." So it really thinks I'm actively using Rbase with that "hung" connection. Our hardware guy is out on funeral leave. I have no idea how to terminate that instance of Rbase. Is there anyway I can do it? Does the whole server have to be shut down? I always have crazy problems. Patti
