I believe it is a Windows 7 and up thing.
I noticed that when we upgraded from Server 2003, the task visibility 
disappeared.

There have been some downright hilarious musings made on this list over the 
years.  I love it!

On a more serious note, I checked and updated the settings in Task Scheduler 
and I am absolutely thrilled that R:BASE is running like a champ again for 
me.

One curiosity question, why doesn't the R:BASE icon show in the task bar 
when it's run from a scheduled task?

It is definitely running and doing what it's supposed to do but there's no 
indication of it unless you run Task Manager.
