One other question if I may, how do I change the width of the toolbar with
the Standard Controls, Database Controls, Variable Controls etc. options ?
On one machine all options are displayed, while on my laptop only three
options are displayed at a time. There is ample space to display all on my
laptop but I can't work out how to extend the toolbar.
John,
The describes behavior is directly proportional to the screen resolution on
your laptop.
Having said that, did you know that you can take advantage of the enhanced
real-state-aware, "Consolidated Control Palette" option for well organized
controls in Form, Label and Report Designers?
Here's how (in your specific situation)...
01. Close the Report Designer ...
02. Database Explorer | Main Menu | Settings | Report/Label Designer |
Default Settings ...
Default Report/Label Settings | General ...
[x] Use Consolidated Control Palette
03. Click on [OK] button to save Default Report/Label Settings
04. Now open any report in Report Designer ...
05. Notice the well organized "Control Palette" that you may dock anywhere
you wish.
Just above the bottom status bar of the Report Designer is the suitable
place to dock Control Palette (in my opinion, of course).
You may switch to desired controls by either clicking on the tab page
or clicking on the arrow down (far right) to select appropriate group.
That's all there is to it!
Have fun.
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
