Active Directory authenticates you to the network and allows the network to
grant rights to various resources, such as shared network drives.

As an active directory user, as far as I know, once you are authorized and
given access rights, there is no effect on running applications. Rbase
runs just fine, ignorant of active directory, as long as your rights allow
you access to the shared drive.

An application could query the active directory for user name, rights etc,
to avoid having to log in to the application, but as far as I know does not
have to.

Thanks Dan,

I'm sure if there were a problem, we would have heard about it on R-list.

My IT contact followed up with, "Does [RBase] integrate with Active
Directory? We are in the middle of implementing it for [company name] and if
there is an integration available with [RBase], we want to use it."

My understanding is that the Active Directory reduces repetitive unnecessary
reads/writes.

A customer is moving RBase and data base to a new Windows server and asks,
"Does it interface with Microsoft Active Directory?"

I advise that this is probably a non issue but I would check.

TIA,
