Thanks, Jason. I was pretty sure you could assign a password to a spreadsheet
but didn't know how. So yeah, I'm still wondering if we have the ability to
assign on in the Gateway Export. Good to know that the user can assign it
himself; I'd just rather not rely on that!

Dear Karen,

I can’t answer your question about R:Base, but Excel does have
the option to password protect all or part of an Excel file. To require a
password to open the file, (this is for Excel 2010, your mileage may vary with
other versions) go to File->Info->Protect Workbook->Encrypt with Password.
There are other options that will allow for finer grained control under Protect
Workbook, and you can also protect just parts of a workbook with some of the
commands in the Changes section of the Review tab.

I love assigning passwords to PDF files as my output, but do we have the
ability to assign a password to an Excel spreadsheet? (And here I'm just
guessing that in Excel you CAN assign passwords to open a file? I admit I've
never seen one yet.). I don't see what looks like a password option in the
gateway export; would there be any interest in my asking that as an enhancement
if it doesn't exist?
