Here are a few blue's clues for your specific situation ... The TALLY command is very much like the COMPUTE and CROSSTAB commands, where calculations are performed on column values. Similar to COMPUTE and CROSSTAB, the TALLY command limits evaluations upon the initial TEXT characters, specifically the first 40 characters. Having said that ...
