Yes I think that's it! If I bring up the form in windows 6.5, there is a
choice of "wrap / keep on one line". Looks like "wrap" is the default because
all the fields have it.

I think I'll leave the fields as DBMemo for my easier forms, but for the really
complicated "important" forms, I might take the time to modify the 6.5 form so
they all come over as DBText.

Can you think of a reason why DBMemos aren't a good idea?

If I remember there is something like line wraps to turn off in 6.5.

Whew, finally got a client to upgrade from windows 6.5 to 9.5... I remember
seeing a post about this before but didn't keep the answer. When I convert a
form, all the text fields are coming over as DBMemos. It seems to work okay.
I cannot enter more characters than the column would allow, so that's good. Is
it okay to keep them as DBMemos, any drawbacks? I seem to recall there's
something that you can do in 6.5 to modify every field one-by-one so that they
DO come over as DBText, but obviously this would be a ton of work that I'd
rather not do if DBMemos would function okay.

Any drawback to keeping as DBMemo, or remember what to do in 6.5 to ensure
it's converted as a DBText?
