Actually it would be safer to use the full UNC Path instead since different workstations/users can map drives differently. People try to launch applications without having all their drives 'mapped' Look in Windows Explorer and see if U: exists. It the map to U: got lost (disconnected) any reference to it won't work. It didn't look like your code mapped it on the fly.
