Karen,

Cool feature. Don’t hesitate to ask for enhancements, RBTI has been good about
listening to developers; worst case they don’t implement it and you have not
lost anything… well, maybe 5 minutes typing the request…J

Exactly!!! I've always wished we had this, but never had the guts to ask for
an enhancement. I'm glad someone did!

No more

set var vnumber = (int(.vdialogtext))?

Cool. Hopefully, I will get some funds and time to upgrade soon…

Just want to make sure this doesn't escape everyone's notice. I just had
occasion to use this nifty new feature today!

Did you know that in RBase X you can now have a "DIALOG" command that accepts a
variable other than text? No more need to have a text variable in your Dialog
and then do a conversion to get the integer/date/whatever you really need!

What happens if you type in an invalid value? If you had your error messages
on, you would see the standard "variable not the same type" error message and
it would exit the Dialog. If your messages are off, the dialog would just
disappear and your variable would be null. So after the dialog, just test if
the value is null to see if they typed in something incorrect.
