Access is no walk in the park if you exploit the capablilities of the VBA
language because it is pretty expansive but there is no denying it  is
widely used.  If you throw away the database engine and replace it with the
Big R, then you would have something.  It is pitiful the DB doesn't measure
up to the scope of the VBA language that goes with it.  It is ok from the
Desktop Rolodex usage, but if you peruse the Access NGs, whenever someone
posts complaining of performance issues with 10 or 12 users or 25 to 30,000
record tables, the resounding responses are to tell the person to upsize to
SqlServer.
