Hi Paul,

Have you tried setting the

listenerPort to 18100 on one server and 18101 on the other

Subject: Mysterious persistant non-reproducible error in R:Tango

We are running R:Tango 2000 on 2 separate WIN2K servers. One of the servers has been in production for over three years. We recently added the 2nd server as a development platform. In both cases we are using the latest version of Oterro for all db connections. Both Tango installs have been upgraded to SP1.

Since very nearly the first day of use, the second server has randomly generated a specific error message:

"An Error has occurred. The application file was either missing or invalid."

It is impossible to reproduce the error.  Once displayed, the user must wait 30 seconds to one minute, and then a simple refresh will restore operation.

In the beginning, because of previous experiments, I suspected some sort of license issue, and indeed was seemingly able to reduce the error frequency by synchronizing the t4server.ini licence key with the licence entry in the server registry (I have 2 full licenses, one on each server).

The error continues to show up several times per day.

Infrequently the same error has appeared on the second, stable server. This had never occured before the second install.

Here is the physical architecture:
The webserver (IIS5) is serviced by a second machine running Tango 2000 Server, with each web site having a single root virtual directory located on a third server running Netware 5 containing the database, html, and taf files.

We are hosting several sites, and rely on Novell for directory services to control internal and external file access.

This has been a problem for several months. Any insight is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul
