An interesting approach that many users out there might not
think about. I use you approach all the time when I have
to update my mailing list with changes received from the
mailing house when we do a news letter mailing. It saves
creating all kinds of complex programming. In fact the select
statements I use generates all the update command syntax
verbage.
I got the idea for doing this from an article many years
ago in the late lamented RBASE EXCHANGE magazine. The article
evaluated different methods of generating/using the UPDATE
command. If my memory serves me. The method you suggested
was a hands down winner for shortest amount of time.
