I don't know how much the NetPort's cost, but another inexpensive route ($199) for just one printer is the Castelle LanPress Jr (http://www.castelle.com/products/lanpress/LANpress_JR.htm) It attaches directly to the parallel port with the Cat5 connecting to the other end and easy to step up.
