Hi all.......

Perhaps I have lost my mind (not to worry, it was small anyway). I'm sitting
here debugging some software I wrote, and I notice something very odd. If there
is only 1 Rbase connection to the network (Novell in this case), and no other
users of any kind are on the LAN, if I type

CONNECT dbname

the response is instant.

BUT........if there is even 1 other Rbase connection to the network, not doing
anything at all, but already attached to the same database, the same command

CONNECT dbname

takes about 2 seconds. Not a big deal unless you jumb back and forth between a
lot of databases, but if you do jump back and forth, it can delay the software
by multiples of 2 seconds.....five jumps and you are waiting 10 seconds. That
can generate a tech support call from my customer to me! SO.......any comments?

Mike
