You are sooooo......................right about the speed issue.  I don't have a
clue as to why, but the when I do a search on a table in another database,
depending on the column I use, the search can be a little slow, to unbelievably
slow, but the "dump it to an ascii file" workaround works great.  Also, I have
noticed that sometimes, when I change the structure of the foreign database, I get
errors until I delete and recreate the ODBC connection.  Is the ODBC driver in
Tango better/faster/different etc than the ODBC connection in Rbase for Windows??
