Rich,

I don't know if the DBase format is appropriate for this much data 
(I'm sure someone here has experience that could comment).

Do you need all two gigs of data to process what you intend to off-
load to the Dbase file? If you could post a quick summary of what 
you want to accomplish with any sample code that help us 
understand, I'm sure you'ld get a solution back from the list.
