Hi All, I really enjoy working with the long Running and Reliable R:Base itself...my own mistakes are usually the cause of my problems, but I have one I can't seem to get a handle on.
In R:Base for DOS 6.1a and 6.5+ a report with 2 break levels does not sum the first detail line when it is the first item on a page after the break header #1 has just printed on the bottom of the previous page. It works OK for other random break positions. There are a variable number of detail lines printed so I don't have a way to make sure the 1st break header printes on the top of a page without setting the breakpoint new page. If I do set a new page at the breakpoint it works fine, but prints 38 pages instead of 17 since some of the breaks contain only one or two detail lines. I have tried to repaginate it, but all that did was to move the problem to the next random occurance of the situation. I have verified that the variables are reset properly for the breakpoints. Example: Break Header 1 "Category Name"<--- at bottom of a page -------------------------------------------------------------------- Break header 2 "Account Name"<--- at top of page below page header Detail line 1 $100.00 <--- prints, but is NOT in any totals Detail line 2 $200.00 <--- prints and is included in totals Account Total $200.00 If detail line 1 is by itself, the account total is $0.00. Other random combinations of breakpoint/header/footer positions work OK also as far as I can tell. The Account total for Break 2, the Category total for break 2, and the report grand total are incorrect by the line 1 amount. The problem occurred twice in a long report, and the only way I found it was by checking each and every item. I tried unloading the report and reloading into a different database...same result. The customer who reported it sent their database so I could work with their actual data which looks fine. Any ideas on what causes this and how to correct it?
