Don't you just love the consistency of the various Windows
implementations.

I noticed similar problems when I copied files with long
names (windows 95) saved on a ZIP disk to a computer running
WINDOWS XP (home edition). These files were then saved on
a CD-R disk. Also note that the range of valid characters
for file names is different depending on the version of Windows/DOS.
For example "!", "#", "@" were once valid charactes. Now
on later versions of windows copying file names with these
characters have the changed to "_".
