I do want to make it clear that neither Mike nor I (nor anyone else) are pushing VB as a *replacement* for R:BASE. VB is a strong compliment to R:BASE and very nicely rounds out what you can do with R:BASE. > ... At least I have my foot in the door and will hopefully be able to > convert them to R:Base one day. Since VB is back-end independent, you can develop in Access and later move to R:BASE. It's the perfect intro for R:BASE. > VB is fast and the tools Scott has developed for it make rapid application a > reality. You really don't have to be a rocket scientist to get started. I've been surprised at just how productive a person can be with VB. VB gets you around all of the work-arounds you have to do once you exceed the capabilities of R:BASE's GUI development environment. I would go so far as to say that many of the GUI related questions asked on this list would be well served by a look into using VB as a front end to R:BASE. Scott ==== Scott J.
