The early (pre Oterro) drivers used to be idiosyncratic when connecting to
more than one database at a time. In the end, we found it was very
dependant on the order of connection and disconnection. The work around was
to make disconnections in the reverse order to which the connections were
made, ie disconnect the most recent connection first and to make sure
everything was disconnected and the engine was closed before ending VB.

With Oterro, and especially with Oterro 2.5 things are very much improved.
We have a mission critical app (VB front ending Oterro) using two different
databases connected simultaneously that really is rock solid. (It uses
ADO.) Amongst other things, we'll be talking about it at the conference.
(You can also get details of our Oterro related talk from the last
conference at www.aspensoftware.co.uk/RBASE/otrecycle.htm)

Hope this helps.

Best regards
