The setting for IDQUOTES stays with the database. In some earlier
versions of R:Base I have had problems when the IDQUOTES was not set to
the reverse single quote and these were converted databases.

No, you are the first one to suggest it.  Although the default is
correct,
when I open the database it's set for blank.  I cannot change it, but
I'll
try later when no one is on the system.
