I can think of 5 ways to do this off the top of my head, and if you posted 
this question on the wiTango list, you would probably get 20 different 
answers.

One way is to use the SELECT HTML command in a database action to build your 
selection menu.  In HTML, the Select command gives you a pulldown menu.  You 
could do it something like this.

[select name="contact_status">
        [@rows>
        [option value=[@column users.contact_status>>[@column users.contact_status>
         [/option>
         [/@rows>
[/select>
