I think I've used the label designer less than a
dozen times in 10 years so even though I'm the first
to respond I'm by no means the best.

I do not know of a way to change the orientation of
the text in a report or label in R:BASE.   I, too,
would have tried landscape first.

I know you can alter the text orientation in Publisher
and I know the mail merge facility is less steps than
it is in Word, so, failing all else, export the data
to a text file and do a mail merge from Publisher.
