Brad
I take it you are using R:Base for DOS.

First and most important copy the database with forms corruption to
another work area.

Connect to your backup database (one where the forms are ok).

   SET NULL -0-

   OUT Forms.DAT
    UNLOAD DATA FOR SYS_FORMS
   OUT TERM

COPY Forms.DAT to your work area

   Connect to your corrupted database.

   SET NULL -0-

   DEL ROWS FROM SYS_FORMS

You may want to do a reload the database here but not necessary.

   LOAD SYS_FORMS FROM Forms.DAT

Subject: Rebuilding "Corrupted" Forms

Novice maintenance question here....

Looking for a way to clean-up contaminated forms. Entry, Editing of
forms is possible, but last week, all forms were populated with
character symbols described by users as: small triangles, or "houses",
or "tear drops"). Have unloaded, reloaded database, performed r:scope
diagnostics, everything else ok in these checks.

Attempted to drop sys_forms table, unload/reload a known, good backed-up
sys_forms table to the production database. However, am prevented from
dropping sys_forms table: "Your cannot delete a system table. ( 10)"

Can unload/reload one form at a time and forms are cleaned up. But with
over 100 forms, thought someone in this fine list would surely advise a
better way! Thanks for any advice on this...

Regards,
Brad Davidson
