Although I had not originally considered R:Base as the cause, I have
encountered this in our office using WordPerfect in a Netware 4.11
environment. We are running 98 as well. We purchased new computers in April
loaded the full version of 6.1 then unloaded it and reloaded 6.5++. but
operating in R:Base is generally stable and doesn't have the blocks
appearing. I have been watching gateway, and NVIDIA(Monitor Driver software)
for a patch.

But I also often have trouble importing and exporting data. R:Base goes
through the motions, but creates no new data file?
