It would be nice to have a "print" button on the screen page!!

Subject: Displaying Reports

I have the following situation:
When generating some reports from within an application, the user wants to
see the report on the screen and then decide whether to print it or not as
some of the reports can be very complex. When using Rbase DOS this was not a
problem as the report could be sent to file and then displayed (it looks
rough with all the embedded printer codes) and/or printed. In Windows there
is a problem, as the report format and graphics are not stored in the file.
The solution is to generate the report once for display and then if the user
wants to print it generate it again for printing, which seems like a waste,
particularly when generating long, complex reports. I know that one solution
is to use Adobe to generate a PDF file (which retains the format and
graphics), but unfortunately, this is not an option with this client.
The ideal solution would be to display the report to the screen and have the
viewer display options at the top for saving, printing, navigating, zooming,
etc.just like the other database. In fact, wouldnt it be magical it
the save file as option would prompt you for the file type (PDF, WORD,
HTML, e-mail, etc) and if you select e-mail it would open your e-mail
software with the file appended?
Has anyone come up with any thing even close to this (without using Adobe or
Crystal Reports) that will work on 6.5++ from within an application? Is this
something that will be available on Version 7.0?
