        Because of what you said I examined that documentation carefully and
the documentation is not correct.  It is stated in the document you
referenced that when the date sequence is set to MMDDYYYY and the date
entered is 6/11/94 then the date stored is is 6/11/1994.  This is not true.
When the date entered is 6/11/94 with DATE SEQUENCE set to MMDDYYYY then the
date stored is 6/11/0094 which is logical within the system.  With input
year format set to YYYY R:Base expects all year digits to be input, when
they are not R:Base left pads the input year number with zeroes.
