I have been scanning and storing images in the database for a couple of
years now. We have eliminated the need for a file room. I currently have
over 94,000 images stored in 26 R:base databases. These images range from
photographs, scanned documents, and PDF files. The graphic files don't take
up much more space storing the complete file in the database as to storing
it in an individual file, but when it is in the database, you can control
access to the file.
