Location: Cosalient EHR in Washington I ran into a tough mutex
bug under OSX Lion that you should be aware of if you need to use mutex to
detect if another helper application is running. Basically, one should be able
to check a mutex of the same name via a tryEnter, but if applicationONE enters
the the mutex before applicationTWO launches, applicationTWO will never be able
to enter the same named mutex even after applicationOne leaves the mutex.

It's better written out in <feedback://showreport?report_id=17906>

This bug resulted in some tough to diagnose hangs as I use shared mutex to
synchronize the sequential launching and quitting of some apps.
