Anyway, I read from other topics that there is an issue with writing preferences and shared preferences. In the log files there is one additional issue that makes this complicated: the log files are supposed to be found by Console. Now, is there any writeably location around where the log could be written and in a folder that is monitored by Console? The SpecialFolder.VarLog is a no go since /var/log cannot be written. /var/log/DiagnosticMessages could, but the Console doesn't find the log from there. I also cannot write a new folder into /var/log. The Apple release notes listed places that are now read only, but where are the logs supposed to be put? Or is it just a bug in Console that it doesn't yet follow the idea Apple has about the DiagnosticMessages -folder?
