It needs to have text and screen shots. I want it to be able to bring up the whole help file with F1 or bring up help by topics kinda like RS does. It also needs to work on mac and windows. Can anyone share information on the best way to do this and what software would be needed. What Win/Mac screen capture software and what ever else. I now use DR Explain for windows but it does not work on Macs. _________________ iMac 27" (2.8GHz Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM, 1TB Drive) OS X Lion 10.7.3 Toshiba Laptop Running Windows 7 & WinXP SP3 REAL Studio Enterprise Edition 2011r4.3 http://www.theultimatecampgroundlog.com Being rewritten for the Mac Top Bob Keeney Post subject: Re: Help File/SystemPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 4:21 pm Joined: Fri Sep 30, 2005 11:48 am Posts: 3129 Location: Lenexa, KS I haven't used it (yet) but you might want to take a look at PandaWare's Simple Help Editor http://www.pandaware.com/simple/index.html _________________ Bob K. 36+ hours of Real Studio Video Training at http://www.bkeeney.com/ Real Studio Consulting http://www.bkeeney.com/consulting/real-studio-consulting BKeeney Briefs Blog For Real Studio Developers http://www.bkeeneybriefs.com/ Top eugenedakin Post subject: Re: Help File/SystemPosted: Sun Jul 22, 2012 4:53 pm Joined: Mon Jan 02, 2006 11:43 am Posts: 106 Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada Hello Jerry, Check the example in Real Studio to open a web page. I make the help file in HTML with any of the free HTML editors and open the file when a user presses the f1 key. This also works well if you eventually want to have your help file available online, as it's already in HTML. If you want the user to reach a specific example from a window in your Real Studio program, then point the F1 key to the web page that you created for that window (in either HTML file form or online). This is cross platform, inexpensive, and fast. This is just my $0.02, Eugene Top Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Page 1 of 1 [ 3 posts ] -- Over 1500 classes with 29000 functions in one REALbasic plug-in collection.
